Control system

Delays in sampling and processing the feedback signal tend to result in unwanted oscillations. the feedback signal needs to be sampled at, and process to be capable of maintaining adequate control over the system. For this reason, control system are often referred to as 'real time'. What constitutes real-time is likely to vary between control systems designed to control the temperature of a greenhouse and the core temperature of a nuclear reactor.
