Data verification
A data item can pass validation checks but
still be inaccurate due to copying error. Verification means double-checking
for accuracy when data are copied.

Visual check
A single operator reads through a whole
record`s data on the display screen, comparing each item with the original
document to check for and correct any errors.
Double entry
Two operators enter the data as two people
are less likely to make the same error. The program compares the two inputs and
only accepts them if they match. If they are not the same, the software can ask
one operator t o resolve the discrepancy or refer the source of the data for
further investigation.
Parity check
Electronic copying errors during transmission
across networks can be detected and, in
some cases, even corrected by number of methods.
